2.3 Receipt Images

  • Other information visible on receipts

Receipt images are stored as part of the related expense and are visible only to users who have access to that expense or group.

2.4 Voice Recordings

If you use voice input to add an expense, Share App records audio and transmits it to our servers and to our third-party AI providers in order to transcribe your speech and suggest an expense.

We use voice recordings only to:

  • Convert your speech to text
  • Generate a suggested expense from what you said
  • Provide and improve voice-input functionality

We do not retain audio recordings beyond what is necessary to produce the transcription and suggestion returned to you. You can decline microphone access at any time through your device settings.

2.5 Location Information

With your permission, Share App may automatically collect and store the precise or approximate geographic location associated with an expense at the time it is created.

Location information may include:

  • Latitude and longitude coordinates
  • Place name
  • Approximate address
  • City, region, or country
  • Location metadata related to an expense

We use location information to:

  • Display where an expense was created
  • Help users organize and remember expenses
  • Improve search and filtering
  • Generate travel and activity summaries

Location information associated with an expense is visible only to users who have access to that expense or group.

You may disable location access at any time through your device settings.

2.6 Contacts Information

If you grant permission to access your contacts, Share App uploads the phone numbers, email addresses, and names from your address book to our servers to match them against existing Share App users. We use this information to:

  • Find existing Share App users
  • Suggest friends to invite
  • Simplify expense sharing
  • Improve group creation and participant selection

We do not contact individuals in your address book without your authorization.

2.7 Device Information

We automatically collect certain technical information, including:

When you use receipt scanning, voice input, or other AI-powered features, we may process:

AI-generated results may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or errors.

Information added to a group or shared expense may be visible to participants of that group.

Depending on available permissions, group members may be able to:

  • Record settlements

Expenses and group information are not publicly available and are only accessible to authorized participants.

Users are responsible for choosing who has access to their groups and shared expenses.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We may share information only in the following circumstances.

Service Providers

We work with trusted vendors that help us operate the Service, and they may process information only on our behalf and under contract:

  • Cloud hosting, databases, and object storage for receipt images
  • Authentication providers — Google and Apple sign-in
  • Push notification delivery — Firebase Cloud Messaging and Expo
  • Crash and performance monitoring — Sentry
  • Subscription management — RevenueCat, with payments processed by Apple and Google
  • AI providers used to process receipts, voice, and text into expense suggestions
